How can we help? 👋

Why won’t the refund I submitted disappear from "Transactions Anticipating Refund"?

Do you still have a refund sitting in the Transactions Anticipating Refund box and don’t know why?

This is may happen because:

  • no amount was put in the box in the original transaction that asks for how much the refund was going to be for
  • the amount put in the box in the original transaction that asks for how much the refund was going to be for was input is different from the final amount credited.
  • the credit was never received, so the original transaction’s Anticipating Refund box was never unchecked.

If you are expecting a refund and know how much the refund will be up front, check Anticipating Refund in the original transaction and type in the exact amount of the credit. This will allow QuickBase to match your refund to the original transactions.

If you do not know the amount that will be refunded, check Anticipating Refund in the original transaction but leave the amount blank—however, you will need to email dmse-pcard@mit.edu with the with the doc number of the original transaction and the amount of the credit to have the transaction cleared from this box.

Finally, if the credit was never received and you have a transaction in this box that has been sitting there for a while, email dmse-pcard@mit.edu with the doc number of the transaction that's showing up in this box so that Anticipating Refund can be unchecked.
